Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsWill Vladimir Putin show up for Trump's inauguration?
We heard that he invited Xi of China to the big happening but, so far, no invite for Putin?
In my opinion, the invite to Xi was to validate and legitimize the person he really wants to celebrate with on his special day.
But after all his "Russia, Russia, Russia" proclamations, it might look a little fishy?
But I would not be surprised. There is nothing more that they would like to celebrate than the victory of authoritarianism over democracy and Trump cannot wait to bend the knee for Vladimir and show him his great works.

(17,384 posts)That would be so interesting though. Once Trump is president, I'm sure Putin would be released.
Maybe I'm mixed up, but I thought there was an ICC warrant for his arrest? Biden would honor it; Trump likely wouldn't.

He will not show, he has an ICC warrant for his arrest, he will not risk it. Also, Head of State visits are always coordinated weeks in advance, and Biden is President until noon on 1/20, I doubt hed agree to allow Putin into the US.
