So the only way you dont break up the family is you keep them together and you have to send them all back,
...
Well send the whole family, very humanely, back to the country where they came. That way the familys not separated,
...
The family may decide to say, Id rather have Dad go, and well stay here. And in which case they have that option.

(3,294 posts)If the decision is for the kids to stay, the parents should decide on legal guardians for their children and draw up contingency documents to protect their kids in that scenario.
Our church is working to pull together references to help immigrants. We are working to get sample guardianship papers in at least Spanish and English. We've added a list of Texas Public-Facing Immigrant Support/Advocacy Groups with their contact info, and also Red Cards-Immigrants Know Your Rights (in multiple languages).
We are a rather small church without a lot of money to spare but wanted to help as much as we can. Helping people know where to turn if they get entangled with ICE.
Several members of our Missions team regularly go every couple of weeks to Eagle Pass, TX to take clothing and do construction or meal prep or any of a number of other tasks. We collaborate with a Catholic charity there and other churches that send volunteers regularly. Those who they help are in the U.S. legally, and are moving through to a residence with sponsors, while they await a final decision.
Edited to add:
Somehow I ran across a spreadsheet that gave us access to a list of Public-Facing Immigrant Support/Advocacy Groups with contacts in all 50 states and was able to use the info to create a spreadsheet of Texas names and make it accessible to our volunteers and anyone they choose to share it with.
