New York State Courts,...

The fate of President-elect Trump’s New York hush money case is now in the hands of Judge Juan Merchan, who oversaw the historic first conviction of the former and now incoming president.

of committing 34 felonies by falsifying business records to conceal paying Michael Cohen $130,000 to Stormy Daniel in exchange for her silence about boinking her. Judge Merchan concluded that Trump's concealment of payments to keep that information from voters was an unofficial act. So those convictions still stand.

I feel like we need to do something about the appeals process. I'm not a lawyer, however. But it seems like using appeals to shop for a better verdict should be discouraged. Looking from outside the process, it seems to me that this happens way too often.

In that case, the Judge has to sentence him, or put the sentencing on hold for 4 years, and only then, an appeal can be filed to contest the judgments.
