Senator Gillibrand- We Don't Know What Technology Drones Are Using

Sen. Gillibrand: I want to do much more. I'm very concerned that the FAA and the DOJ and Homeland Security aren't doing enough to assess whose drones these are and whether they are adversarial in any way. I think when they say something like, "Well, we have no evidence that they're foreign operators or adversarial or problematic," they don't have any evidence that it's not, right?

So I understand they want people to not be afraid, but they should be as concerned as I am because of these incursions over our bases in sensitive military sites. For two weeks, Langley had drone incursions, and it was the type of technology that our radar didn't detect them arriving.

Do YOU think these drones represent a military threat ..? An existential one ..?
Foreign actors? Extraterrestrials?

Tell us why YOU have latched on to this as something of immediate importance.

Nuclear materials missing from New Jersey. NRC ALERT a source went missing on December 2. Shipment arrived damaged and the source was missing. It was in transit to Newfield NJ. So are the drones scanning? I know we always grid scanned but with new tech that is very much a possibility. It's not bomb material but could cause health issues for anyone using it unshielded.

Sen. Gillibrand took up an official interest in UAP after discussing the subject with the late, great Sen. Harry Reid, who wanted the Pentagon/Intelligence Community to release what it knows about UFOs to the public.

What We Believe About U.F.O.s

We still don’t know what they are — but we may be close to finding out.

Harry Reid, former US Senator
The New York Times, May 21, 2021

Excerpt...

Over the following years, as I became increasingly interested in U.F.O.s — in part through my conversations with former astronaut John Glenn, a fellow senator with a similar curiosity — my staff warned me not to be seen to engage on the topic. “Stay the hell away from this,” they said. I politely ignored them. I was inquisitive and, like Senator Glenn, I thought it was an issue that demanded attention, and I was in a position to act.

And act I did.

In 2007, while serving as Senate majority leader, I worked with Senators Ted Stevens, a Republican from Alaska, and Daniel Inouye, a Democrat from Hawaii, to secure $22 million in funding for what would become known as the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program. This clandestine Pentagon operation investigated reports of U.F.O.s and other related phenomena, including U.F.O. encounters involving American military personnel. Some videos and photographs documenting these astonishing encounters have since been made public, reigniting America’s longtime fascination with U.F.O.s.

Snip...

Until recently, many military pilots feared the possibility of retribution for reporting sightings of unidentified aerial phenomena. But I believed that an unofficial taboo regarding the frank discussion of encounters could harm our national security and stymie opportunities for technical advancement. Which is why, along with Senators Stevens and Inouye, I helped create that secret Pentagon program in 2007. We wanted to take a close, scientific look at the technological implications of reported U.F.O. encounters.

I believe that there is information uncovered by the government’s covert investigations into unidentified aerial phenomena that can be disclosed to the public without harming our national security. The American people deserve to know more — and hopefully they will soon, with the release of a comprehensive government report requested by the Senate Intelligence Committee on the military’s encounters with U.F.O.s. (The report is due in June, though it may be delayed.)

What have I personally learned from official investigations into unidentified aerial phenomena so far? The truth, disappointing as it may be, is that there’s still a great deal we don’t understand. It’s unclear whether the U.F.O.s we have encountered could have been built by foreign adversaries, whether our pilots’ visual perception during some encounters was somehow distorted, or whether we truly have credible evidence of extraterrestrial visitations. There may be other, as yet unknown explanations for some of these strange sightings.

Regardless, I believe it’s crucial to lead with the science when studying U.F.O.s. Focusing on little green men or conspiracy theories won’t get us far. Of course, whatever the science tells us, some portion of the public will continue to believe in the reality of otherworldly U.F.O.s as a matter of faith. Ultimately, the U.F.O. debate can be broken down into a sincere belief in science versus a sincere belief in extraterrestrials. I side with science.

Brazen, mysterious ‘drone’ incursions now a major crisis

by Marik von Rennenkampf
The Hill, December 17, 2024

Over the last five years, a series of brazen incursions involving objects that exhibit seemingly highly advanced technology, have left local, state and federal authorities baffled. In short, an unknown actor appears to be sending a stark message: “We can operate drone-like vehicles in American skies, over critical infrastructure and hover even above sensitive military facilities with complete impunity.”

Most recently, military personnel, law enforcement officers and New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York residents observed what they described as mysterious low-flying drones over their respective states. According to New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy, the objects are “very sophisticated… the minute you get eyes on them, they go dark.” Murphy is taking the situation “deadly seriously.”

Snip…

During a New Jersey State Police briefing that drew more than 200 mayors, officials learned that the objects are approximately six feet in length, often operate in a coordinated manner and can loiter for as long as seven hours. Notably, even though New Jersey has “some of the best detection equipment in the nation,” the craft evade detection.

Snip…

In one particularly striking incident, New Jersey State Police Superintendent Col. Patrick Callahan described to legislators how a police helicopter hovered over a large, six-foot object that suddenly shut off its lights, forcing the helicopter to depart due to flight safety concerns.

Snip…

To be sure, the vast majority of video footage recorded by private citizens is of misidentified commercial and private aircraft. But Mayorkas’ point-blank dismissal of “multiple” “confirmed” incursions over key military facilities, including over a dozen objects shadowing a Coast Guard vessel — which falls under Mayorkas’ direct authority — is astounding.

Continues…

PS: While we don’t know who — or what — is behind drones and UAP, we’ll never learn if we don’t try. Those who ridicule others about the subject are un-democratic. They work to limit discussion and scientific exploration.

But the ones interfering with military base operations must be something beyond our understanding. The Pentagon has yet to publish a photo, let alone share data about these incursions. So the field is left open for Rupert Murdoch, who apparently wants to blame drones flying from US farms owned by Peking that border the bases.

I suspect that the US military and intelligence agencies know more than they want to say.

I think part of this is indeed a real issue and then there are some banging the drum with unfounded theories,
Pentagon needs to realize that there non-responsiveness is causing more concern.

They may not want to admit that there are more unknowns than knowns. It’s hard because our adversaries are watching. Is this just happening in US ? Something is not quite adding up.
