This is a big deal. It should have happened earlier, but better late than never: There is finally coordination happening between the top of the Democratic Party and Independent Media.

David Pakman explains that a repeat of what people did after Trumps election in 2016 is not going to cut it this time around. Pakman outlined that what needs to happen is the establishment of a 24/7 opposition to fight the RNC and MAGA, every day at all times. No more bullshit of reaching across the aisle. No more bullshit of going center of the road.
It is important to point out that, by Pakmans own reporting, he gets about 1 million views of his content per day. That is about quadruple the daily viewer count that CNN is right now (bsky.app/...). One political commentator on YouTube, quadruple the audience of a billion-dollar news company. Even more importantly, Ben Wikler, the only serious candidate to be the next DNC Chairman, has repeated the same talking points as outlined above. As a matter of fact, turning the DNC into a wartime machine for democracy (a shadow cabinet) is Wiklers primary agenda.
Pakman was at the White House with 10 other Progressive Independent Media creators, including Luke Beasley and Ben Meiselas. Pakman and these other creators had two hours with the Office of Digital Management, which Pakman describes was recently created by the Biden Administration for the express purpose of coordinating with online creators to create an alternate media sphere to the legacy media. So there is a place where the conversation about the changing media landscape is happening, and the powers that be are involving online creators. Regardless of what the DNC does, Progressive Independent Media Creators, like Pakman, want to band together and organize.
The people within the Biden Administration and outside of it appear to be aware that they fed up, and they want to actively work to fix this issue realizing that Progressive Independent Media is a massive piece of the puzzle.

*****UPDATE*****
To clarify, Biden met with Progressive content creators at the White House a couple times earlier this year, but this appears to be the first attempt at an ongoing consistent coordination between independent media and the top of the Democratic Party to continue into the future.
