What does Elon Musk want?

He's the richest man on the planet. And he may very well become the world's first trillionaire. At some point, money is no longer the issue.

Does he want fame? He's already got it due t to Tesla, Space X, and his red Tesla Roadster making it's second trip around the sun. That seems to be sufficient to get him into the history books.

Does he want to be universally loved? That may be one of Trump's fantasies, but Musk knows it's ridiculous and impossible.

Does he want to be universally feared? That too many be a Trump fantasy. but why would Musk want that?

Does he want political power? All billionaires "own" politicians and have political power. Why would he want to paint a target on his back by becoming an active/practicing politician?

Is he as mentally deranged as Trump? Doesn't seem so. It's difficult to keep that degree of bugshit crazy hidden.

So again I ask, what does Elon Musk want from his current activities and relationship with Trump?

Any guesses?

...from Key Largo and how it is a subtle but effective critique of the dominant American culture: "more" as an ideology. Oliver Stone made the same point in Scarface, this time in Day-Glo, but a cruel irony occurred when some in the counterculture--the hip-hop culture in particular--began to see the Tony Montana character as a hero worthy of emulation.

Some of Morris Berman's works get an occasional mention at DU. I highly recommend his "America Trilogy", beginning with Twilight of American Culture (1999). Two other books apropos to the times are Erich Fromm's Escape From Freedom (1941) and Eric Hoffer's The True Believer (1951).

Just like Trump, he wants the most money, the most influence, the most adoration, the most power. They are two peas in a pod, and there's room in the pod for only one of them. They are matter and antimatter, and it's all bound to blow up before long.

As correctly noted elsewhere – he wants to return America to the Gilded Age of robber barons and the judicial paradigm of the Lochner era where laws protecting the health, lives, and rights of working Americans are un-Constitutional, resulting in reckless, irresponsible deregulation.

To do whatever he wants for fun without regulation.
To be loved and respected (his mom is a self-centered piece of work in public, and apparently his dad is, too, so I can be pretty sure he was ignored or encouraged to be a right selfish, competitive bastard growing up).

He doesn't seem to think much past his immediate interests. Not an introspective person, clever rather than wise. Nor is he very emotionally smart, despite some pretty enthusiastic marketing skills.

The only difference between him and a typical somewhat skilled collage-aged Nerd is that he now has Billions to indulge his whims and poutrage and - it's gone to his head.

I'd feel a smidge of pity for him if he wasn't so dangerous - it's like giving a 13-year old unlimited money with full adult rights and responsibilities -without any supervision or restraints.

It's virtually impossible for any of us to imagine the global perspective of the richest man in the world.

Maybe he's just having "a bit of fun" screwing around with the minds of the 18 billion people that inhabit the planet. Which is really sick. I don't know whether or not this makes him insane, but it sure as hell makes him a clueless prick.

Money is always an issue for people like him.

Maybe it has to do with the fact they did not earn the money honestly and think anything they don't get can be taken by others.

As far as we no he also still uses cannabis as well.

For ketamine it included delusions of control, reference and misinterpretation.

We know about cannabis paranoia.

He doesn't own a yacht, doesn't live in a mansion.

His private jet is owned by SpaceX.

He lives on a LOT less money annually than Bezos or Zuck... who both have enormous yachts and Zuck owns half an island...

He really thinks he can change humanity. That's his "hard on"

Grabbing reusable chemical rockets is cool, but the UAP tech is the prize!

He already got the deadly Cyber Truck fiery crash reporting regulations cut.

It's said that the TR-3B is reverse engineered antigravity tech perfected to 89% and as far as we got. Even Trump said "some interesting things happened at Roswell."

Why did Trump create Space Force? AF Generals at first laughed at the idea! Don't you think AF already owned Space? Now he can assign his loyalists and find out or try to and exploit it for the oligarchs and not The People!
