Kyrsten Sinema A Dick To The End

Sen. Kyrsten Sinema, the Kyrsten Sinema party senator from Arizona, gave an “exit interview” to Semafor so she could explain that her single term in the Senate was in fact a nearly complete success, and if anyone thinks otherwise, that’s just like their opinion man.

She said that after this fall’s election, when Republicans won control of the Senate, she heard from a Democratic senator — whom she didn’t name, of course — who “reached out to me after the election and apologized — and said I was right.” It was the classic lotsa people agree with me in the comments but are too scared to say so dodge, and who knows, maybe it really happened. She added that “I was surprised about that one. I was very surprised. And I appreciate it.”

Then everyone applauded.

What Sinema was right about, according to Sinema, was her 2022 vote against an exception to the filibuster to preserve voting rights. That decision put an end to the Freedom to Vote Act and the John Lewis Voting Rights Enhancement Act, which would have protected Americans from Republican states’ ever-increasing efforts at voter suppression. So much for abolishing gerrymandering, reducing barriers to voter registration and voter list maintenance, and setting uniform rules for federal elections. But the filibuster was preserved, and Semafor somewhat naively proclaims that now that Democrats are in the minority, “her former party will now benefit from her and Sen. Joe Manchin’s refusal to vote to weaken the filibuster.”

At least until there’s something Republicans really wanna do and they eliminate it without a second thought about traditions, comity, bipartisanship, or any of the stuff that Sinema and Manchin insisted the filibuster magically promotes.

A nearly complete success for her. Not so much for her constituents or the population in general.

If success is measured by the ability to convince special interest groups to support her in her inevitable next career as a high paid lobbyist - cha ching!

If, however, success is measured by helping people and making the country a better place she was an abject failure.

Just from what I've gleaned in the local AZ reporting, Kyrsten Sinema doesn't have a friend in the world, unless they are maybe lobbyists for the wine industry, or a pharma bro scattered here or there. The donors and supporters are long gone. People who thought they were her friends are mystified and have moved on with their lives. Her phone doesn't ring. I doubt anybody writes to her senate office any more. She vacations without anybody noticing or caring. Her life centers around online shopping sprees and a closet filled with costumes worthy of Minnie Mouse, or reminiscent of a 1970s carny scarehouse.

She will be studied. She was never honest about who she was or what she believed, but her lies were convincing. Unlike Joe Manchin, who never really pretended to be someone he wasn't, Sinema reinvented herself to fit the occasion--bisexual when it helped her, "forgot she had said that' when it no longer served her. Atheist when it helped her, crucifix-wearing believer when she needed sympathy. On and on.

Those of us who voted for her will continue to observe her and try to figure out if there were signs we missed, and watch anxiously as she decides what to do next.

And she says that because Democrats are now in the minority in both houses, they're better off because she preserved the filibuster, which they can now use..
Pay no attention the the fact that her rejection of the exception from filibusters of voting rights legislation resulted in 2 major voting rights bills being defeated, which made it easier for states to suppress Democrat's votes and elect Republican candidates.
She's either oblivious to the harm this caused to the electoral process, or she simply didn't care. I'm going with the latter.

And now she is going to become really rich because of this and her work on behalf of
the pharmaceutical industries. She is the quintessential piece of shit her but her personal
financial situation in front of what is good for the American People.

Look for her to be appointed to all kinds of no work but big payday positions.

seems to not have a clue as to how destructive her voting was to so many people in her own party. She and Manchin together were as detrimental as any Republican member of the US Senate to the desires of the majority. If she had any shame, her head would be slung low on her way out the door. But she holds her head up high and still hasn’t a clue about her betrayal to the Party and it’s goals. I could say the same about Manchin. Adios, glad you’re not coming back.

Senator Sinema, you turned out to be a big mistake, for the Democratic Party.
Next time, i hope Arizona Democrats are a little more wiser and pick a better candidate for the party to work with on our shared interests.
