Remember Dennis Hastert

Speaker of the House . The man was two heartbeats away from the Presidency. He was on TV all the time. News articles, Sunday political TV talk shows. Photos of him in the Oval Office with George W. Bush. All along, he was a pedophile. He was at 9/11 commemorations, at every State of the Union. Longest serving republican speaker of the house. Pedophile.

When the story broke. NOTHING. The press didn’t stalk him or camp out at his house. No commentary about the moral decay of the Republican Party. In fact I think it was forgotten or not mentioned that he was a Republican. It just struck me as so odd that this wasn’t a national scandal that the media didn’t spend 6 months doing stories about it. Barely a peep out of the media. Oh yeah and Dennis Hastert tried to get the hush money back that he paid one of the boys for breaking the contract.

Disturbing Details of Dennis Hastert's Alleged Sex Abuse Revealed

Federal prosecutors late tonight revealed disturbing, new details about alleged decades-old sexual abuse by former Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert and his purported efforts to lie about it when confronted by the FBI, according to court documents.

The 26-page filing accuses the man who was once second in line for the Presidency of a series of sexual encounters with four minors when Hastert was a high school wrestling coach in Illinois in the late 1960s and 1970s.

In one such incident, prosecutors say Hastert molested one of his wrestlers, identified as Individual A, in a motel room during a wrestling camp trip, using the guise of a massage to inappropriately touch the boy.

They could question Jim Jordan on his thoughts about this and whether it should have been reported and investigated? And does the lack of reporting warrant an investigation about the people involved? And, does it failure to be investigated relate to current scandals such as events like those at Ohio State - does he care to comment?

I had the distinct displeasure of sitting at the sane table at large multi-credit union gatherings.
I found him very unpleasant & boring. Wrong about everything, sure he was right. & closed mind. And, that was before we knew about tge sexual abuse stuff.
He is human septic system matter.

7. If I recall correctly, the media was outside his house.

Because I commented at the time, the Speaker of the House would not come out of the house and speak.

8. How can anyone forget Dennis Hastert?

The pedophile GOP Speaker of the House, Hastert, entered his office after Bob Livingston went bye bye because of his philandering with young staff during the years Ken Starr was investigating a consensual blow job (and doing his best to traumatize the young woman involved).

Bob Livingston succeeded Newt Gingrich (are there words sufficient to express that man’s ignominy?) who had to resign because he was under investigation for self dealing (he did it). Newt Gingrich’s (is it third or fourth?) wife began as an adulterous affair that nobody investigated. Apparently, she will be appointed as an ambassador and our press will likely not investigate her or her husband.

Dennis Hastert was, we thought, the stable face to hid the “shadow” speaker, Tom Delay, whose perfidy was so legendary not even the GOP dared make him speaker. He was convicted in Texas! was Tom Delay.

Fret not those who cannot believe a GOP’er did time for criming, the Texas highest criminal court, the court of Criminal Appeals, reversed the jury’s conviction by increasing the state’s evidentiary burden and essentially nullifying the law. Sound familiar?

The lone dissenter, Judge Meyers wrote “"In addition to placing this ridiculous burden on the State, which effectively repeals the statute, this holding also allows corporations who simply cannot be bothered to look up the law to get away with making illegal contributions….”

Dennis Hastert was supposed to be the “clean” speaker who could survive Larry Flynt’s one million dollar offer for evidence of adulterous affairs by GOP’ers.

Dennis Hastert, pedophile was the “clean” speaker.

Our press salivated over getting Bill Clinton while all of this was occurring.
Again, Bill Clinton’s “crime” was getting elected while a southern democrat and receipt of a consensual blow job.

Did our press learn anything from any of this? If they did, there has been no evidence I have seen of the reckoning.

Somewhere, someplace, too, a man named (former R-Ohio congressman) Bob Ney is crying. Nobody got him a get of a jail free card. The press paid scant to that conviction, too.

Dennis Hastert was the “clean” guy …..

Sometimes remembering makes one wonder how hard somebody like Harlan Crowe does laugh at what men like him have wrought from inside Mr. Burns’ cave.

Dennis Hastert's stunningly hypocritical 1998 speech about impeaching Clinton - Then-Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert (R-Ill.) advocated for the impeachment of President Bill Clinton in 1998, saying no one is above the law
