Jamaica's first Miss World, Carole Joan Crawford, has died.

Crawford, who won the title of Miss World in 1963, died on December 18. She was 81.

A release from son Stephan Merkens called Crawford "a cherished icon of grace, beauty, and philanthropy".

2. Well the Jamaicans in general are very beautiful people. So no surprise there have been so many winners.
