...the family is set to move away from the longtime family house the next day and Garland winds up a little music box and sings 'Have Yourself...,' and when she finishes, the girl runs out into the snow and knocks the heads off of all of the snowmen, screaming, ' If we can't take them, no one else will have them!' or something similar, breaking down crying.

Priceless.

When he did a Christmas album. He didn’t like the “muddle through” line and has it changed to the happier “hang a shining star upon the highest bough” you hear most of the time today.

I've performed it in public a few times, it's one of those songs that feels good to sing even though it's a sad, lonely one. Some music is work to make it happen, this song is like a deep breath. As for holiday songs, "Oh Holy Night" is like that too.
