On a similar note, Japan has a Christmas meme song, featuring Gawr Gura of Hololive:

(42,898 posts)religious at all. Its interesting to note, that less than point one percent are actually Christian. Japan has had a history with both Shinto and Buddhism having to compromise with Buddhism taking place after life, and Shintoism during life. While Kurisumasu is a big holiday around the world, Japanese actually look forward to their ultimate holiday, and that's New Years. Its also on Jan 1st. Following New Years, are three golden days, which are so important that wives often make food ahead of time , so they don't have to slave over a hot stove later.
Yes Christmas is a holiday in Japan (as is Halloween now, among quite a few) but its a romantic holiday with no more importance then Valentines day is to us.
