(28,667 posts)The JB "Live on the Bay" VHS in the mid -80's, entertained my little ones back then....and my wife and I enjoyed it, too.
If you need to see fun music live, Jimmy delivered it.
Saw Jimmy in OOB.ME in the mid-70;s, the last time was at Fenway Park, 2003, when he lifted the curse of the Bambino.

(40,280 posts)Saw him in concert several times along the coast and a couple of times meandering in the Quarter. Read his books. And Yes. Jimmy Buffet live was nothing but fun.
His last two CDs, Life on the Flip Side and Equal Strain on All Parts are pure joy. Im an Old Guy, still buy CDs. Got a new truck last summer, pissed me off, it came with every whiz bang bell and whistle available but no CD player.
Jimmy Buffet will be the Soundtrack of the Celebration of My Life.

(6,628 posts)My drama teacher in high school went to college with him in Mississippi. She told us they used to have 'Jimmy Buffett Day' in the cafeteria once in a while and he would stand on a table and play. What I wouldn't give to have been there for that!
"Yes, I am a pirate... two hundred years too late."

Me, I'm just tryin' to get by, bein' quiet and shy in a world full of pushin' and shove.
Happy Birthday Jimmy.
