Tillis embarrasses with faux outrage over judge's retirement decision

As has happened after previous elections, some judges who had hoped their replacements would be named by a President Kamala Harris have decided to rescind their decisions to retire or take senior status so as to reduce the number of judicial appointments Trump will have.

It’s a perfectly common, lawful, and constitutional action.

Unfortunately, one judge’s decision to stay on the bench — Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals Judge James Wynn – has driven North Carolina Senator Thom Tillis to throw a silly tantrum.

Tillis, who blocked the person President Biden had nominated for the slot for political reasons, is now – lamely and laughably – loudly complaining that politics may have influenced Wynn’s decision.

To which all one can say is “give us a break.”

The bottom line: Senator Tillis’s hypocrisy was predictable, but at least he could spare us the embarrassing faux outrage.
