Remember Back When The U.S. Post Office Made Two Deliveries Per Day Around Christmas......

just to deliver all the Christmas Cards that were sent around Christmas.

Those days are over. Every year the Christmas Cards I receive are getting sparser and sparser. I just got 10 this year. I used to get close to 100.

Too expensive now. Card prices are up and so are postage stamps.

I've made a decision only to send e-cards and only to people that sent me a card.

With the money I save on cards and postage - I make a donation to a charity.

We used to get deluged with catalogs between October & New Years & now I can count the number on two hands. The new giant grocery store down the street doesn't have a magazine section anymore, although mags got so expensive I hardly bought them anymore. The online versions just don't cut it though. Same with the catalog companies. Going to their site & clicking randomly isn't the same as flipping through a catalog. Online greeting cards, however, are quite fun!

They come in handy if you need a card. I also have a box of cheap birthday cards that I bought years ago.

For an upgrade, they have some Hallmark cards on Target's website for $3.00 a box

It's been happening for decades now. It has more to do with the internet, new tech and people being able to connect directly and more often.
