The form says "user of or addicted to."

Of course, he could have purchased his guns through private sale, which in Florida does not require a background check. He then wouldn't have had to lie on the form, since no form would be required. Lying on the form is what Hunter was charged with.

If Gaetz purchased from a licensed dealer, there would be a paper trail to the completed form. Getting it would require a subpoena, and charging him would require some verification of his drug use. In Hunter's case they had his autobiography. With Gaetz, they would probably need somebody to testify to it.
