As to this performance it was masterful. I was extremely impressed with the range of the songs. As a Beatles fan, I loved the version she did of Blackbird.

He has not contacted us to let us know that he is going crazy.
He probably watched the 1/2 show and liked it. Or didn't watch it.
Otherwise, I'm not in contact with them. And I'm not reading Free Republic etc. And I'm not looking on FB.

Jay Z, Beyonce and other artists performed. Trump sniped earlier: "I didnt have to bring J-Lo or Jay-Z

At the Cleveland rally, Beyonce said she hopes that America makes history again by electing the nations first woman president. Her backup dancers wore pantsuits in a none-too-subtle nod to the former Secretary of State.

(2,460 posts)-- Im putting my money where my mouth is and announcing that any venue or promoter mandating masks, requiring vaccinations, or pushing COVID testing protocols on my fans will not be tolerated. Any show I have booked that discriminates against concert-goers by requiring proof of vaccination, a COVID test, or a mask is being canceled immediately. Many people are taking a firm stand against these mandates around the country, and I wholeheartedly support that cause. I have been extremely vocal against mandates since the beginning. This is a sacrifice that Im willing to make to stand up for the freedoms that generations of Americans have enjoyed for their entire lifetimes. There are plenty of promoters and venues around the country that appreciate fans and the freedom of choice in this great country, and those are the promoters and venues that I will be supporting.
-- Country music singer Travis Tritt announced on Twitter that he would be boycotting the Anheuser-Busch beer company over their campaign with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney. I will be deleting all Anheuser-Busch products from my tour hospitality rider. I know many other artists who are doing the same. In full disclosure, I was on a tour sponsored by Budweiser in the 90s. That was when Anheuser-Busch was American owned. A great American company that later sold out to the Europeans and became unrecognizable to the American consumer. Such a shame.

-- Praying for @realDonaldTrump after someone shot at him and apparently hit his right ear at his rally in Pennsylvania. We demand that this perpetrator be caught and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Many of us have been predicting that the radical left would try to kill Trump before the election because they cannot defeat him any other way. This kind of attack cannot be ignored. #MAGA2024

(30,617 posts)I won't go as far as calling him racist, because he also had gripes about Garth Brooks and his pop-star like concerts prior to walking out on Beyonce.
Country itself is a ongoing fusion genre. It has benefitted from rockabilly and rock has it's foundings in blues and rockabilly. Country isn't a "pure genre".
Jackson should have been a gentleman and just shrugged it off. He doesn't have to like or enjoy "pop country infusion" but he doesn't need to be disrespectful either. Although he hasn't attempted any cross-over hits, both him and George Strait's music has been relatively popular among those who aren't country fans. He should appreciate the broad base who made him a success. In George's case, it's been the Austin City Limits crowd who have helped him along the way.
(Both George and Jackson had gripes about Garth Brooks)

(2,503 posts)She is nothing but fabulous. She has a gorgeous voice, shes beautiful and uber talented. She knows what she wants her shows to look like and she works hard to make sure it happens. Saw an interview with her a couple of years ago and I was really impressed. She lets her people do what theyre paid to do but her oversight of the whole show is phenomenal. I love that she has the guts to do what she wants to musically and doesnt let the naysayers stop her. I admire her. This halftime show is fantastic- too bad maga cant look past their ignorance to enjoy a truly talented musician.

(2,460 posts)That Was Pure Torture: Fans Clash Over Beyoncés Controversial NFL Christmas Halftime Show
Beyoncé sparked heated reactions after performing in Houston, Texas, USA at the National Football League (NFL) Christmas Gameday halftime show. Critics slammed her performance as pure torture while others praised her talent. The spectacle, featuring songs from her Cowboy Carter album, further drew attention for a controversial finger-gun gesture that clashed with NFL policies.
Ummm flags tucked into belt loops, upside down, touching the ground, a netizen argued. Horrible covers of amazing songs, a few signals. Far from a great performance.
A viewer echoed: No really it was not Christmasy at all and thought it was never gonna end. What was that.
A commentator countered: Happy for her. Fun show. Haters gonna hate while she laughs her way to the bank.

(10,371 posts)... it was GREAT! From what I saw, it really was great, also... and I own no Beyonce albums. She's very attractive, and can dance and sing. Very watchable... Taylor Swift, also. I think the current era of music favorites veer more into dancing and singing than trumpet or electric guitar. All good, though... especially when they drive Trumpsters crazy!

(292 posts)with their 1968 country album, Sweetheart of the Rodeo. Folks in Nashville were clutching their pearls when the trend-setting, shaggy hippies took on their beloved country music genre. The Byrds would later write a song about the backlash in the song, Drug Store Truck Drivin' Man:
Drug Store Truck Drivin' Man
(The Byrds)
He's a drug store truck drivin' man
He's a head of the Ku Klux Klan
When summer rolls around
He'll be lucky if he's not in town
Well he's got him a house on the hill
He plays country records
Till you've had your fill
He's a fireman's friend
He's an all night DJ
But he sure does think different
From the records he plays...

(1,838 posts)1) She's wearing too much. They're preference is the "Melania Knavs' (pre-trump) look. To them, that's how a 'classy lady' should NOT dress. So, of course Beyonce's costume is not revealing enough.
2) Their idea of an entertainer is Kid Rock or Ted Nugent. This performance is WAY too professional for their tastes.
Beyonce is not my favorite, but she is an Excellent entertainer and she puts on a good show.
