After trump’s psycho-tariffing, a huge recession (the polite term) is looming, and the β€œAmerica 1933” scenario could be more likely.

April 19, 1775
The first shots of the Revolutionary War are fired at Lexington and Concord in Massachusetts. The news of the bloodshed rockets along the eastern seaboard, and thousands of volunteers convergeβ€”called "Minute Men"β€”on Cambridge, Mass. These are the beginnings of the Continental Army.

singing a song of angry men?
It is the music of a people
Who will not be slaves again
When the beating of your heart
Echoes the beating of the drums
There is a life about to start
When tomorrow comes

Inevitably you get idiots like the one whose sign you saw. Threatening, stupid, weird, dumb. They all come out to the protest to bask in attention and make everyone there look stupid. And the media films the weirdest, craziest, and stupidest for the ad revenue.

Anyone who cares for good causes is against protests.

Quite the opposite. Your dumb protests are fun for some, perhaps. Face time is so sweet! But I'm just trying to alert people to the fact that the things that they think feel so good are really bad for them. You made it into something it isn't.

Most of the people who go to our protests are actually good people. But the bad apples swarm it and swamp it.

It's Dunning-Kruger mixed with paranoia. This is why I pointed out (correctly, I think) that protests are "lazy." Laziness is our bane. Easy answers are lures.

I do see my vulnerability to the old rhetorical standard, "He's calling everyone dumb!" But the people I most care to influence see that as amateurish and see through it instantly. It's not that it shows a lack of talent on your part, but that talent could be better spent. Trump does essentially the same thing with his poor lost MAGAs. "The weirdo liberal elites are calling you stupid!"

And, yes, in a different context than the one we find ourselves in, taking to the streets would be good. But check out the pictures from some of the protests and the ho-hum coverage they are getting. They're hurting the cause right now. Well intended; poor resulted.

That started with a simple bread riot because two nobles held off selling it. They were arguing over how much of a cut they get. When they sent in the troops to quell it, the troops dissappeared into the masses shedding thier uniforms but kept the guns.
