So right wing whack job Laura Loomer had the top 2 people @ the NSA fired and Musk is vetting the NSA too

Trump abruptly fires the 4-star general who headed the National Security Agency

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump has abruptly fired the director of the National Security Agency, according to U.S. officials and members of Congress, but the White House and the Pentagon have provided no reasons for the move.

Senior military leaders were informed Thursday of the firing of Air Force Gen. Tim Haugh, who also oversaw the Pentagon’s Cyber Command, the officials said. They received no advance notice about the decision to remove a four-star general with a 33-year career in intelligence and cyber operations, according to the officials, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss personnel decisions.

Far-right activist and commentator Laura Loomer appeared to take credit Friday in a post on X, saying she raised concerns to Trump about Haugh’s ties to Gen. Mark Milley and the Biden administration and questioned the NSA chief’s loyalty to the president. Milley served as chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff during Trump’s first term but has since become an outspoken critic.

“Given the fact that the NSA is arguably the most powerful intel agency in the world, we cannot allow for a Biden nominee to hold that position,” Loomer wrote. “Thank you President Trump for being receptive to the vetting materials provided to you and thank you for firing these Biden holdovers.”

Also fired was Haugh’s civilian deputy at the NSA, Wendy Noble.

Elon Musk is meeting with the NSA to make sure they are loyal to Krasnov. We are in

just read the "Puzzle Palace". Place seems like a country all its own, highly compartmentalized on a need to know what no one needs/ or wants to know.

Granted, "Puzzle Palace" is old news. But it's still an organization with multiple fiefdoms and highly compartmented "need to know" strictures. A lot of time that hinders collaboration, especially in cases where it's cross-national stuff. (i.e. Russian hackers working with Iranian ones.) It's gotten better after the 9/11 Commission, but it's still not wide open.

In my time at NSA. She's a good person. She didn't deserve this. Neither did Gen. Haugh. I didn't know him, but my former co-workers still inside said that he was popular with the employees there. All I'm getting is "be glad that you're out. It's a shitshow."

Most of the retirees are mad. I'm actually thinking about organizing a show of support for the employees there.

… w/out being very good @ your job. Just like the Admiral who was in command of the Pacific Fleet that Hog’s Breath fired because she was too DEI. These firings are about making sure there are loyalists in
the government for Krasnov’s planned dictatorship.

Thank you for your story. I have a family member who worked in our nation’s remote sensing programs
and he/she would be put in custody in heartbeat if he or she had released or sold their knowledge.

6. Trump purges national security officials, further destabilizing his own team

The problem isn’t just that the president has fired national security officials without cause, it’s also why he made these drastic moves.

The good news: Trump has finally agreed to fire some members of his hapless national security team.

The bad news: He's fired the wrong people for the wrong reasons, while leaving in place the officials who actually deserve to be ousted

https://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow-show/maddowblog/trump-purges-national-security-officials-destabilizing-team-rcna199673

The purge appears to be intensifying. NBC News reported:

The director and the No. 2 official at the National Security Agency were ousted from their positions Thursday, according to a defense official and three sources with knowledge of the matter. ... [Air Force Gen. Timothy Haugh] was both the head of U.S. Cyber Command and the director of the National Security Agency, a role he had served in since February 2024. Wendy Noble, the NSA’s Deputy Director, was the agency’s senior civilian leader.

.....And what, pray tell, precipitated these moves? As it turns out, NBC News, among several other news organizations, reported that the president started ousting members of his national security team after he met with far-right activist Laura Loomer, who “expressed dissatisfaction with some officials on his national security team.”

Indeed, after Trump fired the top two officials at the National Security Agency, Loomer took credit for their dismissals.

For those who might need a refresher, Loomer is a right-wing activist, a radical conspiracy theorist and a failed Republican congressional candidate who has described herself as “pro-white nationalism.” She was also a close confidant to Trump during the 2024 campaign — even joining the Republican for a Sept. 11 remembrance, despite the fact she’s pushed false conspiracy theories about the terrorist attacks having been “an inside job.”.....

Indeed, the president hasn’t even made much of an effort to deny Loomer’s influence, boasting to reporters late Thursday that the conspiracy theorist is “a very good patriot” who makes “recommendations” he takes seriously.

The point is not that the administration’s national security team is sacrosanct. On the contrary, in the wake of Signal chat scandal, it is easy to make the case that Trump had a responsibility to fire key members of his team, including Waltz and Hegseth. The president, to date, has refused.

But that just makes Trump’s judgment look even worse: He’s finally agreed to fire some members of his hapless national security team, but he’s fired the wrong people for the wrong reasons, while leaving in place the people who actually deserve to be ousted.
