In my ideal society, we would vote as households, a pastor tells CNN. And I would ordinarily be the one that would cast the vote, but I would cast the vote having discussed it with my household.
Another agrees, saying hed back an end to a womans right to vote: I would support that, and Id support it on the basis that the atomization that comes with our current system is not good for humans.
The discussion of 19th Amendment rights was part of a news segment focused on Doug Wilson a self-proclaimed Christian nationalist pastor based in Idaho that was reposted to X by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. The secretary is among Wilsons supporters, and his involvement with Wilsons denomination highlights how a fringe conservative evangelical Christian belief system that questions womens right to vote is gaining more traction in the Republican Party.
Kristin Du Mez, a professor of history at Calvin University and author of Jesus and John Wayne: How White Evangelicals Corrupted a Faith and Fractured a Nation, said Wilsons broader vision of Christian nationalism has gotten more attention over the past several years, alongside President Donald Trumps rise to power.

(8,366 posts)They just want to end our right to vote, along with a lot of other human rights.
Here's the plan: No vote/no nookie, no cooking, no nothing. We go on strike and the guys in the exec suites pulling these cretins' strings can figure out how to make their own calls and coffee. The nation would come to a standstill. Not the best plan for those shareholders.

(34,282 posts)Supreme Court about to eliminate voting rates and after that its going to just completely be destroyed, everything, absolutely everything.
Traditional methods of responding will not work.
A. Be prepared for whats about to happen as in the Nazis know they cannot win honest elections so there wont be honest elections.
B mobilize now to get everyone on our side when they take away voting rights and when they take away Social Security and Medicare. The only good thing about it when they do those things is it might mobilize people who are now not paying attention and who are now on the piece of shits side.

(129,802 posts)christofascist, theocratic, patriarchal, woman-haters do not need to repeal 19A. Insurmountable obstacles will do the job quite well.
Your posted deliberate obtuseness on this incredibly serious attack on women's rights does give one pause.
