Judge Shuts Down Trump’s Chicago Troop Deployment And Questions Administration’s Grasp on Reality

“Ultimately, this court must conclude that defendants’... perceptions are not reliable,” wrote Judge April Perry.

A federal judge on Friday night released her full opinion justifying an earlier decision to block President Donald Trump from deploying Texas National Guard troops in Chicago, and she even went so far as to question his administration’s grasp on reality.

In her ruling, Judge April Perry began by citing a lengthy quote from the Federalist Papers in which Alexander Hamilton addressed concerns that a tyrannical US president would use a militia from one state to invade and occupy another state.

Perry noted that the president may federalize the National Guard if “there is a rebellion or danger of a rebellion against the authority” of the US government, but she argued there has historically been a “very high threshold for deployment” that is not justified by current circumstances.

This led her to remark upon a “troubling trend” of the Trump administration “equating protests with riots” and “a lack of appreciation for the wide spectrum that exists between citizens who are observing, questioning, and criticizing their government, and those who are obstructing, assaulting, or doing violence.”

“This indicates to the court both bias and lack of objectivity,” she wrote. “Ultimately, this court must conclude that defendants’... perceptions are not reliable.”

When Judge Karin Immergut ruled that _rump's invasion of Portland was illegal, she wrote, "The President’s determination was simply untethered to the facts."

That's two court judgments that _rump has actually lost contact with reality.

His whole, the president is above the law argument was laughed out of every federal court until it got to the insurrectionist flag court, which is the only one that counts.

There is a rebellion against the US Govt and it is being perpetrated by the band of seditionists in the WH. They are trying to topple our government. They are trying to take over our government. They are actively dismantling our government for their own aims.

We the People are our government. They are supposed to be representing We the People and protecting the Constitution and the interests of the citizens of the US - they are not doing so. Why is this not the sedition our Founders worried about? Is there a mechanism to respond to it? With the abdication of the R's in Congress, and the corruption of SCOTUS, what other entity can act? Can the Governors? Can the other courts?

I started asking months ago - what would our Founders do?

They should never have entrusted Congress with so much responsibility. Or perhaps they should have had tighter criteria.

They deliberately stayed away from a parliamentary system.

To admit to and claim the obvious presence and percentage of deviates and evildoers in their population.

It doesn't seem there was a plan for the worst and hope for the best mentality. It appears that they got it somewhat out of order and left too much to chance.

Maybe some of them could have consulted more women and their mothers about the nature of men through history, and we might have had a better launch.

Just my feminist two cents. 🤷‍♀️

These judges are calling them like they are seeing them. These GOP won’t speak up so our only hope is the courts and the voters.

To report apparent kidnappings in progress. Then the cops arrive and find ICE lacks legal warrants. The result is to detain ICE. Then unfortunately the feds then bring in the military to suppress rogue cops?
