Couldn't Trump just have doctored Epstein records released?

With all mention of him and other Republicans removed?

No documents would have been released until the trial was concluded.

New information came out in the trial that re-opened the investigation. Merrick Fucking Garland decided to be a total stickler about “protocols” and wouldn’t release any docs while there was an open investigation. Then he dragged his feet until it was 2024 whereby (whoopsie!) we’re into an election year and candidate investigations get iced out of deference per that fucking OLC memo

Therefore, Biden could not release anything. One of them was Katie Johnson, who eventually backed down due to threats from Trump and/or his various thugs.

Katie Johnson dropped all charges in 2016 and the Maxwell case finished in 2022, three years before President Bidens term ended.
There was more than enough time for the files to be released.
Why the Biden, or Harris campaigns didn't get the files released I will never understand, but it certainly wasn't because they ran out of time.

The investigation was open and DOJ policy is not to release info re pending investigations. He was being cautious (overly cautious in the investigation of Trump imo).

And donors in there along with Trump and republicans. At the time Trump was being taken to court and possibly going to jail for many different things, he might have not wanted to give them a chance to say he was prejudicing the jurors against him.

but the one truth is that venerable young girls were exploited by the rich and powerful and highlights how our society does not take seriously the victimization of women or girls. Things like domestic abuse, physical or sexual violence, continues until people are held accountable and throughout history that is seldom the case.

Or have seen the originals.

Many of the young women’s defense attorneys have original docs. So does the Epstein estate. I presume at least a couple of the attorneys that were involved in any type of scrub job kept an original set (or two).

It’s possible some Dem lawmakers are holding original documents as well. Time will tell

With the economy and country wrecked by TSFs response to said pandemic. I agree that more should have been done to male sure TSF never got his orange claws on the control levers again, but that would have taken all 3 branches. And look what happened when we did try to use the 14th amendement?

It's a ton of stuff, on paper and stored electronically, and by now it's in many different hands. Once something takes electronic form it's very easy to move around. Many cats are out of many bags already; I doubt it's even possible at this point to alter, redact or destroy all copies or versions of the contents. (It's not like the Pentagon Papers, where Daniel Ellsberg smuggled batches of documents out of his office and took them to another location in order to photocopy all 7,000 pages, a page at a time, over a period of four months.)
