You know I had heard that she sent a letter out to CBS News about needing to win back public trust. But only just now having read a snippet of it do I realize how awful she is.

Investigating free speech violations by Trump is not itself a free speech violation. If we can't investigate free speech violations, then we will not have free speech. The 1st Amendment does not enforce itself.

Congress has a right and duty to know if she conspired with Trump to bury the Cecot story, overruling a team of seasoned journalists and helping Trump violate their 1st Amendment rights. Inquiries of CBS personnel is the only way to determine if Trump violated the 1st Amendment with regard to the Cecot story.

This conversation has become a dead end. You think investigating 1st Amendment violations is a 1st Amendment violation itself. I don't. You think any investigation into the actions of a network is meddling in "editorial judgment." I don't. We'll have to leave it at that so as not to waste each other's time. Good night.

I have no issue with the story being leaked. Apparently the leaker, to the best of my knowledge, had the legal right to leak it.
