It wasn't a huge protest, maybe 75 people...
It was cold but we’re Michiganders…what a little cold? Organizers didn’t want any injuries due to the weather so it was only a little over an hour long. West Branch, Michigan. Indivisible quick protest.
No pictures…mittens stopped that. I do have an idea to share though.
We were in the middle of making our signs and an idea struck…no signs. Using a little northern experience we painted some old oversized t-shirts I use for working in the field. Over our coats it was another layer of warmth and an easy way to get out the message.

Freehand lettering…10 minutes..we thought it coulda been better, but this was a quick call protest.
Although some of the denser folks probably thought you were complaining about the weather here in Michigan.
Along M- 55 in front of Walmart where the snow was plowed up over the sidewalk…ice chunks were all we could stand on. The irony was appreciated.
The big sizes are an easier fit over jackets or coats allowing for better access to pockets.
The wind was a consideration we were going to use styrofoam board this time instead of poster board, but the shirt idea came up…off to the races.
Took my oath of service in 1972 and have been trying to live up to it since.
