Screw compromise on Budget
Congress saying they just want ICE agents to be held to the same standards as regular police is like saying they want rapists to use the same standards as all other rapists.
Police regularly racially profile, steal from, gas, beat, torture, rape and kill people with absolutely zero consequences.
The gold standard of how law enforcement should treat people is not the current paradigm of police accountability. Not by a long shot.
For those that say "we have to compromise to keep the government open" I would remind you that children currently held in custody in concentration camps are regularly tortured, feed rotten food with magots in it and beating them unconscious and they are not hiding it as this has been observed by multiple outside observers and absolutely nothing is being done to change it.
Fuck compromises.
