😂😂 "Melania" is already free on Prime Video (Amazon)

My wife and I were queuing up “Young Sherlock” to finish the season and it popped up. We cracked up.

I clicked on it expecting at least a trailer. No trailer. Straight to the intro. Basically straight to video.
Everything at least fishes for a rent or buy for a week or two. Nope

Budget $40 million (+ $35M in marketing)
Box office $16.7 million

Funny thing, if she'd cut back to $4M the film's theatre take could have (barely) exceeded its budget 0rganism Yesterday #14

She got $28M up front. Bezos was just throwing pocket change away to keep government contracts going. Anthropic apparently didn’t pay up.

Not that profitability means a damn thing to these ultra-rich mega-grifters, still it stands proudly as a grand monument to Bezos' magnificent sycophancy.

I like to fall asleep to documentaries and things, and the small tv doesn't bother my partner like the big tv on the wall would. So every night, I plop down, turn it on, and usually throw on a YouTube watch list.

But first, you get a splash screen of Amazon things.

Lemme tell ya. Seeing Melania just leaping out at you as you're laying down to sleep is an experience.

It's disconcerting and distracting. The show's anachronistic musical style clashes with its 1871 Victorian setting.

I'm sure that Guy Ritchie thought he was being clever and artsy in using modern, high-energy music to create a "punk-rock" period aesthetic rather than a traditional orchestral one... but I dislike it.

Even though I enjoy the acting and story telling, sets and costumes... it might very well be that I abandon it because of the music. It remains to be seen if I can get accustomed to it, or if it continues to be intrusive.
