TX-SEN: Cornyn bends the knee.

Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas), who is in the middle of a heated GOP runoff race, threw his support behind changing the Senate filibuster rule to advance the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) America Act.

"After careful consideration, I support whatever changes to Senate rules that may prove necessary for us to get the SAVE America Act and homeland security funding past the Democrats' obstruction, through the Senate, and on the presidents desk for his signature, Cornyn wrote in an op-ed published by the New York Pos

This could be a talking filibuster that removes the obstructionists free pass and makes them defend their indefensible views on the Senate floor, or it could be a different reform, he added.

The SAVE America Act proposes requiring Americans to provide proof of citizenship to register to vote in federal elections. The House passed the bill in February, while President Trump threatened over the weekend to hold his signature from any other bills until the upper chamber does the same even as the Department of Homeland Security remains shuttered.

Although I suspect Trump, being Trump, is actually waiting to endorse based on who he THINKS will win. He hates backing LoSerS

If Cornyn gets the endorsement, Paxton will drop out. Then watch as Cornyn frantically tries to distance himself from Trump in the race against Talarico.

Fortunately, there are still not enough republican votes to eliminate the filibuster.

Why on Earth would you degrade yourself for just another 6 years in the Senate.

Retire. Go enjoy your wealth. Hang out with your grandchildren. Or run for office without debasing yourself and let the chips fall where they may. Who cares?

It's the fact that people who absolutely do not NEED to grovel before Trump do it anyway that gets me. Why? Go enjoy life. You don't have to kiss this guy's disgusting ass. It's incredible.
