The Idiot made a yuge mess of the traffic in much of the greater Cincinnati Area today.
They were closing East/West bound roads a fair distance from the business we was appearing. For example, they shut down parts of the Norwood Lateral, a major artery that connects I71 and I75. Norwood is about 10 miles from Reading (where his first appearance was) as the crow flies. They shut down other thoroughfares as well. When his motorcade was traveling from Reading to Hebron, Ky it was nearly time for the early birds to travel home from work. I was stuck in the middle of it yet I was nowhere near Reading, Hebron or his motorcade. It took 1.5 hours for the drive home which normally takes 25-30 minutes. Had I not done some creative rerouting, it would have certainly taken longer.
I remember being stuck in traffic with two other presidents, one time with Bill Clinton and the other with George W Bush. I was stopped 10-15 minutes each time, then our local law enforcement got the go-ahead from the Secret Service to resume normal traffic flow. These were relative cakewalks compared to today.
I can understand taking precautions but damn.
