I don't know what shoes NYPD Chief Aaron Edwards was wearing while leaping a fence and running into harm's way, but...

I'm guessing they weren't Florsheims.

what focus! It's like he's already captured him with his eyes!

Agree this is an incredible photo. I can't even fathom jumping over a bike rack like that. This officer has a good deal of confidence in his abilities.

I think the out of focus twigs in front of him on the left suggest more foreground depth in the original photo than we see here. That and the framing is so perfect-- not that it couldn't be achieved in camera, but in the the instant it's hard unless you're in exactly the right spot.
