âThe despicable effort by Trumpâs âJusticeâ Deptâto deny Stewart Rhodesâ traitorous criminality and free him from the contempt and condemnation that he deservesâis one more reminder that the attack on our nation on Jan. 6, 2021 is a war that has not ended.â

Stewart Rhodes Crime Against America
But I think on this Memorial Day, a day when we remember Americans who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country to defend the U.S. Constitution and our democratic system of government, its worth pausing on some of the detail in Judge Mehtas remarks. They served to explain his reasoning as well as rebut the arrogant Rhodes self-serving rant. I am a political prisoner, Rhodes said, adding of his time in prison, My goal will be to be an American Solzhenitsyn to expose the criminality of this regime.
You are not a political prisoner, Mr. Rhodes. That is not why you are here, Mehta said. It is not because of your beliefs. It is not because Joe Biden is the president right now.

The judge made clear the seriousness of the conviction of seditious conspiracy. A seditious conspiracywhen you take those two concepts and put it togetheris among the most serious crimes an American can commit. It is an offense against the government to use force. It is an offense against the people of our country, Mehta said. It is a series of acts in which you and others committed to use force, including potentially with weapons, against the government of the United States as it transitioned from one president to another. And what was the motive? You didnt like the new guy.

(7,986 posts)but what really worries me is what happens when he crosses his arms across that enormous chest and poutingly says he's not going anywhere. If his bunker is built, he'll no doubt head down there to plot to seize the office anyway he can... even at the endpoint of a gun aimed at the winner. And how will we get him out? The only way I see him leaving the White House is in a coffin... and that scares me to death. We didn't take care of this the first time around, and now here we'll be again. Only this time, it'll be open civil war... blue against red... on the WH lawn, I'm afraid. We ain't gonna take it laying down and "moving forward" this time. And we know the Magats aren't going to abide by the law, especially if all the effort they took to cheat their way back in goes to naught!
