Details were scarce, including how the framework would address the future of Irans nuclear program.
An Agreement has been largely negotiated, subject to finalization between the United States of America, the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the various other Countries, as listed, Trump said in a social media post, citing Saudi Arabia, the U.A.E. and Jordan, among others. Separately, I had a call with Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu, of Israel, which, likewise, went very well.
Trump added that final aspects and details of the Deal are currently being discussed, and will be announced shortly. He said that among many other elements of the Agreement, the Strait of Hormuz will be opened, but he did not elaborate on whether it included Irans enriched uranium.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei suggested earlier Saturday on state media that the framework agreementwould give Tehran between 30 to 60 days to resolve sticking points over its stockpile. GOP critics, including Trumps former CIA director and secretary of state from his first administration, blasted the apparent agreement for not achieving Trumps main stated goal for going to war: to put a permanent end to Irans nuclear program.

.....Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., a key Trump congressional ally, warned against agreeing to a deal that could wind up giving Iran the appearance of dominance.
If a deal is struck to end the Iranian conflict because it is believed that the Strait of Hormuz cannot be protected from Iranian terrorism and Iran still possesses the capability to destroy major Gulf oil infrastructure, then Iran will be perceived as being a dominate force requiring a diplomatic solution, Graham said in a social media post Saturday.
It sounds like trump is caving to Iran due to the gas price issues and worries about midterms. Even if a deal is struck this week, gas prices will not go down until close to or after midterms

(2,692 posts)Remember when the nuclear deal with Iran was so terrible supposedly cause we paid them $$? Well we are gonna pay them to get back to normal with promises of further negotiations on the nuclear material. If Im Iran I take that deal and tell Trump to stick it on the rest. We have proven we cant get it.

-compensate Tehran by releasing blocked funds (at least $6 billion)
-lift sanctions
-remove American forces from around Iran (Iranian sources more specifically mention the naval assets in the region)
-lift the blockade
-ceasefire in all fronts including in Lebanon (basically allowing Tehran to rearm its proxy network and help Hizballah reasserts its control in Lebanon)
In exchange for
-gradual reopening of Strait of Hormuz with the transit remaining under Tehrans management and control
-negotiations over other issues with no hard deadline (the 30-day negotiation window can be extended)
Washington has not denied any of these claims.
This is a total surrender, pretty symbolic if it is announced on Memorial Day.
