Albanian anti-corruption prosecutors have frozen Kushner's bank accounts!

https://www.occrp.org/en/news/albania-freezes-assets-in-kushner-resort-probe

Albanian anti-corruption prosecutors on Tuesday froze the bank accounts of a landholding company tied to a controversial $4 billion luxury resort project backed by Jared Kushner, President Donald Trump’s son-in-law. The escalating crisis over the coastal development has triggered mass protests, a sharp diplomatic rift with neighboring Greece, and stern warnings from the European Union.

The preventive seizure, ordered by the Special Prosecution Against Corruption and Organized Crime, targeted Albania Land Development amid a widening investigation into allegedly fraudulent property titles. The company, owned by the prominent Qatari entrepreneurs Moutaz and Ramez Al-Khayyat, recently purchased beachfront plots in Zvërnec. The protected coastal area along the Adriatic Sea, near the southern city of Vlora, is where Kushner’s investment firm, Affinity Partners, plans to build an elite mega-resort.

The legal intervention follows days of intense public unrest. Over the weekend, thousands of demonstrators marched through the capital, Tirana, under the banner “Albania Is Not for Sale.” Environmental groups and local residents are protesting the development’s encroachment on the Pishë-Poro-Nartë protected area, a sensitive Mediterranean wetland critical for flamingos and nesting sea turtles.

This is great news! The resort was supposed to be $1.2 billion, but this article says it's a $4 billion project.

I like what someone on Substack said about the billionaires:

It is safe to say that if “it is in childhood that we are first encouraged to give up megalomania - our omniscient and omnipotent presumption that the world is organized by what we need and want - and to gradually acknowledge that the people we need are not, and cannot be under our remote control…giving up…most notably our commitment to a fantasy of total self-suffiiency” this video becomes the evidence of a profound regression back to infantile state and so profound is the condition let’s not even call Ivanka and this entire class (Andressons, Karps, Musks, Thiels, etc) evil, instead we should diagnosis them as severely mentally troubled as a result of exorbitant wealth and have the state intervene for them institutionally given this regression which presents a danger to all citizens who do not suffer MPE psychosis.

Kushner’s personal accounts weren’t frozen (they aren’t under Albanian jurisdiction), but the accounts of the company developing his project were, effectively stopping the project.

We know the grifters NEVER use their own billions so freezing the corporation behind this stops the grifters in their tracks.

for a high end holiday resort if there is that much action against it.

Imagine you have the money and desire to go to a resort like this, but saw that you could be harassed going there? If you have that amount of money, there are likely better alternatives that are not ruining environmentally fragile places ... and no Trump connection.

And a lot of other plutocrates before and since. Eventually, people discover they can't kill all of us. When the cops and military rank and file begin joining their fellow citizens, heads end up on spikes. Sometimes even without that. I have not sorrow for them. Piss off enough people and they get what they deserve.

These billionaires have personality disorders that preclude them from being able to identify with normal people. And for all of Ivanka's nice talk about keeping everything on the island pristine and natural, I doubt she'd be willing to give up all of her conveniences to keep this resort with a low carbon footprint or low ecological impact.

St. John, USVI, used to have a eco-tourism resort. Maho Bay had foursquare simple canvas on wood frame cabins built into the hillside. The non-potable running water was a spigot near the cabin, shared. An ice chest and propane double burner, a few pots, a plastic basin for washing dishes, and a few dishes comprised the kitchen. No A/C. Community bathrooms for the toilets and showers. Lots of stairs to reach a cabin on the hillside, no elevators. No TV, no internet except in the cafe/dining room. I can't imagine Donald's princess spending a day living like this, but my husband and I were delighted with the symplicity.
