Trump Tower rises from the center of downtown Chicago on a major north/south street called Wabash Avenue. A petition is circulating to have the city formally rename a four-block strip of Wabash after a certain famous Chicago resident.

If enacted, it would make Trump Tower’s official address 401 N. Barack Hussein Obama Avenue. I’d love that for him.🖕😁🖕

Technically though, the banks own the place. There are loans on top of loans. Likely the leverage exceeds the assessed value of the property.
The hotel is never sold out, the underground retail space is a ghost town & the living spaces & office floors are about 30% unoccupied.
Another investment by him that was a disaster; for others. (Mostly the idiot bankers that were still lending him money 10 to 18 years ago.)

for a couple days. Right next to the House of Blues and the parking towers that were used in a Steve McQueen movie. We walked by a few times. There was was one rent-a-cop guarding the place. Some people we were with wanted to go up to the 12th floor or wherever the scenic balcony was.
