Governor Beshear should preemptively appoint a new Senator by virtue of McConnell being MIA for over 30 days...

He probably can't do this but he should anyway...Republicans are disregarding the law and lying about McConnell's health...Make the Republicans sue to remove the appointee and prove that Mitch is not dead or brain dead...

The power to appoint is invested in the governor by the state constitution, so he can claim the law violates the constitution of Kentucky.

State constitution states that state-at-large offices or large districts "shall be filled by appointment of the Governor"

McConnell's vacancy is the first opportunity to do this.

They are delaying the inevitable challenge for reasons that are not clear.
