Alabama competitor sues Texas' Buc-ees for allegedly pricing gas too low

Less than a month after the first Buc-ee's outside of Texas opened in Alabama, the convenience store is facing a lawsuit claiming gas prices at the new location are unfairly low, according to the petition filed in federal court last week

Oasis Travel Center, LLC, claims in the lawsuit that the Alabama store's gas prices are "predatory" and harmful toward its business. The travel center appears to be located about four miles east of the new Buc-ee's location in Baldwin County, along Interstate 10 and Country Road 64.

The lawsuit claims the store violated the Alabama Motor Fuel Marketing Act by selling gas below the threshold imposed by the law. The complaint says the store opened on Jan. 21 offering gas at $1.79 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline. Since then, prices for regular gas at the store have fluctuated between $1.79 and $1.87, the lawsuit says.

The lawsuit also highlighted the sale of non-ethanol "Plus" gasoline at $1.93 per gallon.

older engines, not so much. Most of the problems arise from the types of aluminum used not agreeing with the alcohol content.

In my older race bikes i have to run specialty race gas, however i would love to run E-85 due to it's high octane properties and it's clean burn. It also cools combustion temps which is a great thing for high compression. It does mix well with two-stroke oil, however the carb and engine cases wouldn't agree with it, which sucks. It's a $1.70 a gallon, and Sunoco 110 is $11 a gallon...

and the oldest, a rare Honda CB1000 10 speed, is 35 years old. I'm sure my Rav4 would be fine with the ethanol gasoline, but I am stubborn in my old age. And, I will never, ever use ethanol in my small engines or boat motor. That's just me. And speaking of small engines and ethanol, I always thought it was the rubber that cause the issue. I didn't know it was an aluminum problem also.

cuz their restroom stall doors go all the way to the floor. It's like you're own little room. I think they borrowed George Costanza's idea.
