What's wrong with the Alabama Democratic Party - Only 2 Democrats on my ballot out of 13 races.

I pulled up a sample ballot for my district and out of 13 races 11 of them have an only an unopposed repub. And it's not just local races, many are statewide such as the Alabama Supreme Court, Court of Appeals, and Public Service Commission President.

I get it that this is a deep red state, but is the Alabama Democratic Party so weak that we can't at least have candidates out there getting our message out? Change won't happen overnight, but if we don't put forth an effort it'll never happen.

In a way I wish I still lived in Georgia where my vote would mean something, but I guess I'm here to stay.

I don't blame the democratic party for it, I blame myself for not having the backbone to run for office.

I'm a retired engineer, and am just too old for it. Plus I have absolutely zero people skills and I'd get my ass handed to me in any kind of debate.

However, if we had any kind of local Democratic Party presence I'd happily donate to them.

Very few democrats run in local elections. If I were younger I might give it a go, but I’m too damn old. Wish we had some younglings around to take it on.
