Bentley administration seeking legislation for $21 million state parking deck

Gov. Robert Bentley's administration plans to seek legislation to build a new parking deck, mostly for state employees, beside the Gordon Persons Building, a large state office building in Montgomery.

The deck would be on a block that is now a parking lot with about 250 spaces.

Carter said the estimated cost would be about $21.5 million.

A parking deck has been planned for some time on the property, bounded by South Ripley, Pelham, Jackson and Washington streets.
