Special guidelines for posting 2024 election results in the Latest Breaking News forum

On election days we want to ensure that the Latest Breaking News forum is kept clear of duplicate result threads. The Forum Hosts have decided to use the Associated Press as the gold standard for election calls.

Once a race has been called by the Associated Press, the story may be posted in Latest Breaking News.

Any and all other election threads -- speculation, count updates, and even calls from non-AP sources, should be posted in the General Discussion forum or another suitable forum of your choice.

These guidelines will be in effect on the evening of November 5, but also in the days that follow, assuming that not all results will be confirmed on election night. Once all (or most) results are accounted for, this thread will be unpinned.
