Biden will continue to push for Ukraine aid, Gaza cease-fire, Jake Sullivan said

During its last 71 days in the White House, the Biden administration will continue to push forward with support for Ukraine, national security adviser Jake Sullivan said Sunday.

“Our approach remains the same as it’s been for the last two and a half years, which is to put Ukraine in the strongest possible position on the battlefield so that it is ultimately in the strongest possible position at the negotiating table,” Sullivan told host Margaret Brennan on CBS’ “Face the Nation.”

President-elect Donald Trump has threatened to cut aid to Ukraine soon after taking office, and claimed that he would end the war started by Russian President Vladimir Putin in a single day, without specifying how. His son Donald Trump Jr. on Saturday shared an Instagram clip taunting Ukraine.

“It should be up to Ukraine to decide for its own sovereignty and own territorial integrity when and how it goes to the negotiating table,” Sullivan said Sunday. “It should be up to the United States and a coalition of nations that we have built to continue to supply Ukraine with the means to defend itself against brutal Russian aggression.”

Hopefully, the lame duck Congress can pull together a final arms package for Ukraine, because come January, they are truly fucked.
President Asshole is already negotiating their surrender without them. Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk are all gone and the rest of the nation is wrecked. The US will not fund reconstruction; that will all have to come from the EU.

Sorry to be a cynic, but it's warranted.
