I am glad Congress is not is session, as it will require time to heal--and probably some physical therapy.

Some women who wear heel all their lives end up having to wear them all their lives, pretty much, because their calf muscles shorten over time and walking flat footed is painful. I hope she doesn't have that problem.

You have to start rehab from the day after surgery, when you're woozy on pain pills and would rather sleep off the operation. Then comes about 4 months of physical therapy: 4 weeks of home PT, followed by 3 months PT, twice a week at the rehabiltation center, along with daily homework.
I had knee replacements last year on both my knees, four months apart; IOW, as soon as I finished my left knee, I had the right knee replaced 2 weeks afterwards.

tourists, and other non-residents are not covered.

Speaker Emerita Pelosi's primary insurance likely will be coverage from the FEHBP. Her secondary will be Medicare. If she has chosen a Medicare Advantage Plan, it may cover overseas care. Traditional Medicare does not cover overseas treatment. She also may have tertiary coverage from her husband. Workman's Comp could also cover her as I was for an illness contracted during civilian overseas official travel.

Upon retirement, Medicare becomes primary, and FEHBP moves to secondary.

... that we, the Great Unwashed, should be entitled to the same gold-plated healthcare that our tax dollars buy for those who routinely deprive us of any hope of getting it. And then, those on the Dark Side of the Aisle even want to rob us of OUR OWN FUCKING MONEY by stealing the Social Security Trust Fund, so they don't have to repay the TRILLIONS of dollars they "borrowed" from it.
It should be clear by now to anyone with a pulse that the black-hearted swine with an (R) after their names are deliberately pushing people to the very cliff's edge of tolerance, so that when their victims inevitably fight back, they can justify declaring martial law and and start jailing or killing anyone that stands up to them.
To those who don't agree, look at history, and then get back to me. The pattern of behavior is there, as plain as day.

My late husband fell and broke his hip. He was 85.

After the surgery, he failed to recover.

That was the end for him.

I hope she recovers quickly!

She is overseas mind you, not the USA.

not the other way around.

I think there's a difference between recovery from elective hip replacement and surgery to repair a broken hip. A relative had the former at a similar age to Pelosi and is completely recovered, parent also a similar age had the latter and while initially recovered well for a year or so, falls and injuries recurred.

Pelosi should resign and retire before what happened to my parent happens to her.
