A former federal prosecutor poured cold water on House Republicans’ claims that former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) broke the law for her work on the Jan. 6 committee – and suggested that a GOP report released this week “crosses the line.”

“There is nothing there,” Elie Honig explained during an appearance on CNN’s “NewsNight” when asked if Republicans made a case for any crimes on Cheney’s part in the report released Tuesday.

Honig, a senior legal analyst for the network, added that the report should not in any way be viewed as “a pretext” or “any sort of foundation for prosecutors” to zoom in on criminal charges for Cheney based on her involvement on the select committee that investigated the attack on the U.S. Capitol.

“The part that recommends criminal charges against Elizabeth Cheney is remarkably unspecific and way off base,” Honig said Wednesday. “The basis that they allege is that Liz Cheney had secret communications – oh secret communications with a witness – what she's supposed to do? She's an investigator, she's a part of an investigative committee, this is what you do.”

The report’s recommendation that the Justice Department pursue criminal charges against Cheney crossed a line for the legal analyst.

Throughout 2025.

Money isn’t an issue for her, but time will be a pain in the butt.

They just want to screw with her. They know they have nothing.

in 2025 they'll have a weaponized DOJ as well as the court. If TCFSF wants to railroad her into prison that much, it could happen. He's modeling the USA after his idol putin's country - she could end up being defenestrated FFS. The rule of law means so very little already to people like him. Once he has absolute power - there's no low too low.

6. Tell Joe BIden to preemptively pardon EVERYBODY TFFG will go after!
Thu Dec 19, 2024, 11:21 AM
Dec 19

They're starting already. At 2:11 this morning, Trump’s social media account posted: “Liz Cheney could be in a lot of trouble based on the evidence obtained by the subcommittee, which states that ‘numerous federal laws were likely broken by Liz Cheney, and these violations should be investigated by the FBI.’ Thank you to Congressman Barry Loudermilk on a job well done.”

Go to [link:Whitehouse.gov|Whitehouse.gov ] and ask Biden to broadly pardon EVERYBODY for acts regarding TFFG or acts he might not like between Jan 1 2016 and Jan 20 2025. Make it as broad as possible.

(E.G., All Federal, State and other Government officials, elected, salaried or not, for official acts regarding TFFG, other Rs, climate, civil rights, or prosecuting corruption, plus all bloggers, journalists, and private citizens making comments about TFFG or R policies, plus witnesses and family members in cases regarding TFFG or the R party.)

Ask to make a preface, "To avoid weaponizing the Justice Department and warping its purpose,"

8. what line?
Thu Dec 19, 2024, 12:01 PM

the line of law and order? the line of common decency? the line of when it's okay to tell lies?

i feel like i'm in a dream some times. like TPTB and so many others cannot or will not acknowledge the reality of the republican party, let alone what is happening to the country.

this person may be speaking in good faith, but I'm still left feeling gaslit. Like am i losing my mind? Or has my country lost it's mind?
