Incoming Trump press secretary says Day 1 executive order may tackle Title 42

President-elect Trump’s incoming press secretary Karoline Leavitt said Trump’s Day 1 executive orders may tackle Title 42. Leavitt joined Fox News’s “Sunday Morning Futures,” where she outlined what can be expected from Trump’s first day in office next month.

“He will use the power of his pen to deliver on many of the promises he made to the American people on the campaign trail to secure our southern border, to fast-track permits for fracking, for drilling, and to also take executive action to stop some of the transgender insanity that we have seen take over this country,” Leavitt said.

Host Maria Bartiromo pressed Leavitt on what immigration-related executive action Trump plans to take. “Well, securing the southern border, perhaps looking at Title 42. Many of these executive actions are still being considered by our policy teams and also our lawyers,” she said.

Title 42 is a controversial Trump-era policy that allowed for asylum-seekers to be expelled from the country. The policy was implemented in the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic. It ended in May 2023 after the pandemic public health emergency officially came to an end. It came more than a year after the Biden administration first tried to rescind the order.

As a note - "Title 42" was specifically a "Public Health Emergency" provision and was used during the worst of the COVID pandemic while the U.S. extended the "Public Health Emergency" (I think like 90 days at a time). But we purportedly don't have such anymore so not sure what they plan to do with that.

if bird flu mutates into a human to human form. Several animals have been getting it and people have been infected by them. The more people who get it, the more chance of a human to human mutation developing.
