President Joe Biden signs off on 2% pay raise for most civilian federal employees

Source: USA Today/Yahoo

Most federal employees are set to start the new year making a little more cash after President Joe Biden signed an executive order Monday.

The executive order, announced Monday by the White House, said that a 2% pay increase will be given to most civilian federal employees starting on January 2025. According to reporting from Federal News Network, the raise is part of set increases proposed throughout the year.

According to the executive order, the 2% increase is an average, as raises for employees will be determined by location. Therefore, some will see slightly more or less than a 2% pay raise.

Another pay increase of 4.5% was given to military members as part of the 2025 National Defense Authorization Act. Earlier this year, a pay raise of 5.2% on average was given to federal employees, making it the largest increase in 40 years.

While a 2% pay raise is better than a lot of people get, it is still less than the rate of inflation.

what is it for us SS recipients? I forgot what it was after seeing how much Medicare went up, and how many of our services in MA were cancelled or jacked up in price... including now deductibles. I just knew there was no way we were going to end up with a spendable increase, heck... I knew we wouldn't even break even!

Americans, as a whole, have been conditioned for 2 centuries to just accept things the way they are, thanks to the millionaires, billionaires, and all their mouthpieces. God save us if we Americans actually held together as a unit and mass demonstrated, like they do in France and other countries. Yea, America screws us over every chance it gets, but we accept it all, sight unseen.

SS recipients never get the full raise because Medicare always increases at the same time.
