'Wake up': Israel calls on Australia to join Middle East war

Israel has called on Australia to “wake up” and join the war in Iran as it enters its sixth day and hostilities spill across the Middle East.

Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister Sharren Haskel told 7NEWS it’s time for Australia to participate in the strikes launched by the US and Israel on Iran.

“The war is now escalating on all fronts. So my message to Australia is to wake up,” she said. “I would expect Australia, with its long history of defending humanity and freedom throughout many wars throughout our history … to actually join forces as well.”

Haskel insisted for Australians worried about the impact of the war on fuel and gas prices, trade, travel and security that the conflict would be worth it in the long run.
