WASHINGTON — ICE agents will be stationed outside graduation events for the nation’s newest Marines to identify whether any of their family members are undocumented, according to the Marine Corps.

As the U.S. continues the war in Iran, the Marine Corps has boosted protection measures on bases, requiring everyone to present REAL IDs, U.S. passports or U.S. birth certificates to access any sites.

Undocumented immigrants are generally ineligible for federal REAL IDs and don’t have U.S. passports or birth certificates. So people without identifying documents who arrive at the gate of Marine Corps Recruit Depot at Parris Island in Beaufort, South Carolina, for recruit family days and graduation events this week may now have to answer to Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials, the Marine Corps said.

Because of “increased force protection measures” at the recruit depot, "federal law enforcement personnel will be present at installation access points to conduct enhanced screening and lawful immigration status inquiries during recruit family and graduation days,” a message on the Parris Island website read. While sometimes family members don’t have proper documentation, it wasn’t clear why ICE had decided to station at Parris Island.

... the fact that I have heard first-hand accounts from an active duty service member that 95% of his fellow enlistees are rabid Trump-humpers. The young fellow in question was one of them, but, I am relieved to report, he has since seen the light.
He did some homework after his grandmother, who raised him, told him not to bother coming home or calling her until he'd done the minimum of research necessary to see what an evil sonofabitch Trump actually is. She gave him the Cliff Notes version of Trump's history, he followed up, and was aghast at how ill-informed he and his buddies really were.

... it was not my service I was referring to, it was a dear friend's grandson.
When I went for my draft physical back in April of 1966, I got a 1Y instead of a 1A because I was too light for my height. Hard to believe, looking in the mirror now! Then they went to the lottery and I got a high number. Literally, the luck of the draw is the only reason I'm here now, pushing 80, instead of being another name on the Viet Nam Memorial.

During graduation day. If Grandmother doesn't have a driver's license and can't find her birth certificate, she just needed to come in the office and name the graduate and they would give her a pass. Most times the graduate gives her name to the front gate office and has a pass waiting.

It gets very crowded and one problem will back up the traffic for miles.

How is ICE doing anything to help in this process?

It's as if Pedo Trump and the drunk Hegseth don't understand what a very special day this is for the graduates. Would they stage ICE outside the Naval Academy on graduation day? Or outside Harvard and Yale during graduation?
