But eight years on, we haven’t even begun to understand that lesson. We didn’t listen to Hillary. We haven’t yet realised that misogyny is one of the most dangerous weapons on Earth. The best friend of authoritarians and oligarchs. The handmaiden of tyrants.

Worst of all, we haven’t yet realised that misogyny represents the most urgent and pressing threat to global security.

Because it’s misogyny – networked misogyny across multiple global platforms that will earn their tech bro owners billions upon billions of dollars – that is going to decide the 2024 election.

And it’s misogyny that’s going to dictate the future of Nato, the outcome of the war in Ukraine, whether we have peace in Europe or more war. And because this is going to be a firehose that will be directed at a single woman – Kamala Harris – it will be misogyny multiplied: misogyny plus racism, the most toxic combination of all.

1. Yes very frightening

one does wonder if our momentum will build, or if we have much room to the upside from here.

My guess is we will squeak out a win in this election partly due to the deeply flawed opposition, with modest gains in Congress. So not much progress.

What I'm not seeing us doing right now is solidifying the political middle. Something we failed to do in 2016 as well.

2. And that's why...

A. We're going to win this time.

B. Women are getting elected in more countries and finding their way to important positions, misogyny is on the decline and it started recently.

C. Pissing off all the females in the land is not a wise plan and will fail spectacularly, just you watch. We are about to end this abusive relationship once and for all.


The Great Comeuppance is upon us, it is now that we can flip the script, just like Joe Biden did. Women of the world are not taking any of this lightly and we will prevail after millennia of male domination. We have the tools and know how to use them to defeat our foes. This time it's about our very survival, we'd best kill the beast before it kills us.

... crucial element. In the US, there's another platform that spreads the extrememly misogynistic disinformation they love to employ - Evangelical Christianity. This already suspect endeavor has glued themselves to the MAGA Mafia. They're the original purveyors of the misogyny that Carole Cadwalladr warns us is coming.
