Trump's transition was supposed to be a show of force. What happened?

(Politico) Over the last 24 hours, Donald Trump lost his pick to lead the Drug Enforcement Administration. His choice for Defense secretary, Pete Hegseth, is struggling to gain support from Senate Republicans. The president-elect is now even considering his onetime rival, Gov. Ron DeSantis, to lead the Pentagon.

And these shake-ups to his not-yet-formed administration come after former Rep. Matt Gaetz withdrew from consideration as Trump’s choice for attorney general.

All told, the setbacks are raising new questions about Trump’s power over his party, whether Republicans would submit to any and all of his demands — and the expectation that his chief of staff, Susie Wiles, would bring order to Trump’s transition and White House.

No need to be background checked or senate confirmation.

Djt was going to slip all these misfits, clowns, drunks, snd pedos in there under a contrived emergency appointment scheme. Where his nominees could serve two years absent any senate confirmation.

The senate then balked after seeing the buffoons and clowns Team trDumpee intended to fill his cabinet with.

3. It's not about power, force, or strength. It's about competence, and the total lack thereof.

His picks for Cabinet and agency positions lack the experience and depth for the agency they're being asked to lead. The DEA pick was wise to bow out. Smartest of them all so far.

said “no” to Trump. I believe that he believed they’d rubber stamp his nominations.

With Trump sycophants in one and potential competent Republican candidates for various government jobs in the other, they would not overlap.

Therein lies a problem for the good old US of A.
