Just got word tonight, a person who I have known for 55 years passed today.

A buddy, in my HS Boy's Club - life took us in different directions. But managed to stay in touch, the last a party we had in June this year, bringing back what remained of the Boys Club. He was in tough shape then....I knew it without a word having to be spoken.

As I have shared with those that knew him, "A better man, I have not met".

Life is hard to figure out, sometimes. I mean, I am a smoker, drink enough, and am still in reasonably good health. My friend had none of my habits, but he had health issues since the mid-70's; back issues, mainly. Just a great guy in my life...glad to call him a friend.

10. Found out yesterday that there was nothing left to do medically, except prepare for the end.

Guess, he decided to check out early and not put his family thru the hospice experience. I hope I can take the same path out of here.
