and my DU family. A perfect start to my day! I just want to thank all of you for this journey we share, the bright moments, the joy, the laughs, the sorrows.
Be safe and well. And pet all your furbabies for me!

(96,259 posts)Congrats!
Looking forward to a nice day today, after a morning nap. Because I can only stay horizontal for about 4 hours I often go back to bed by now and get up after a couple more hours, usually up by 9am. I can feel a sleep coming on but it will be sunny and above freezing when I get up.

(96,259 posts)About ten days ago. Now it's kind of snowy or cold, in the 20s, at night and if it isn't snowing during the day, it's windy and sunny up in the high 30s to 40s. It's the wind that sucks.

(108,887 posts)My doggy girl (nearly 13 yo now) still gets up with me to walk the park with a couple of friends pre-dawn so she's now fed and (somewhat literally, "fat & happy" ). She usually will sit on my legs hoping for the scraps (if I sit on the floor cushions eating breakfast) but apparently she doesn't like what I'm having for breakfast this morning-- so she's sleeping with some of her oversized stuffed toys as pillows nearby.
to you!

(1,561 posts)pets where I live now. It’s been too long!!!
I’m hoping that will change in 2-3 years, and then I’m going to stock up - ok well maybe just a couple.
Do we have any pet emojis? We should. I’d like several including a cat that would roll over and a dog chasing a ball. Suggestion box?
niyad
(122,956 posts)I know tnere are pet emojis, ax I see them here all the time, especially in the Pets forum.

(39,509 posts)If you have Windows 11, right click in the dialogue (reply) box. At the top of the menu that appears will be an option called "Emoji & Symbols."😼
You have to play around with it a little bit to get more of the animals.

(1,561 posts)replacement soon (no longer supported) so I don’t even attempt it there and given hacking potential I’m probably at risk anyway.
Mostly I’m on my iPhone and can’t do it on that.
I’ve been relying on the ones offered on DU.
But thank you very much! When I get the new laptop I’ll know now how to do that now.

My away daughter is here for the week. She isn't usually here for Thanksgiving, so it's a treat. We went out in the yard and filled all of the feeders, now watching the critters emptying them

(5,237 posts)for your posts of wisdom, humour, and love through the years. I know if it weren't for my furbabies and this site, I'd have completely lost it years ago. They keep me engaged and DU helps me stay somewhat sane. They also know when I need kisses and head boops. I make the "announcement" it's bedtime, and I have 6 who stop whatever they're doing and either lead or follow me into the bedroom. Lately, with the advent of cold weather once again, my body has been curled up in pain and I've been close to losing my mind with this election. Those 6, as well as a few of the others, will make sure when they lay down in the bed, they have to be touching at least one part of my body. It makes getting up in the middle of the night to head to the bathroom a bit more difficult, but oh... the heat from their little bodies and the purring coos at that calming frequency makes it all worthwhile. (and there's one who always gets up with me and leads me to the bathroom. I guess he thinks "mom" can't make it there in the dark by herself! lol)
I hope to spend many more years gaining inspiration and solace from your posts. I only wish I could do the magic to make my pics of my babies appear. But alas, all this time, and I just can't make it happen. Sometimes, you just have to admit your weaknesses! lol
