A 7 lb white fluffy Maltese who is a tad bit on the spoiled side.

to the table. He then would have tore it open and gulped the steak down.

Beef is not normally part of a domestic cat's diet.

I'd also worry about e coli from raw beef. More of a problem with store bought ground beef than steak, because of the way that ground beef is handled prior to selling. But I'd still be wary.

True that feral cats eat raw foods, like mice and birds plus garbage from dumpsters if they can get to them. But feral cats develop diseases from their prey and from garbage foraging.

When Ember was a kitten, she suddenly leaped onto the counter where I was preparing some raw chicken to cook and tried to grab it from me. Blocked her just in time.

When I roast a turkey in the oven, Ember walks around the kitchen with her nose in the air, sniffing the scent. Yes, of course she gets some when the turkey is done.
