I know it's "early"...but I'm making some latkes tonight!!!

I'm making a little list for myself to make a special supper tomorrow. It's just me, so I was going to do a 'dumb supper' with a place set for my parents/ancestors and maybe also do a facetime with my kid.

I'm sending them a care pkg, and remembered they's asked for Hanukkah candles, and then I thought... LATKES!!!!

Haven't made them in years, so it will be a real treat.

Do you do applesauce or sour cream? I like the cream, my son used to do ketchup ...i told him it was sacreligious!

I think setting places for your ancestors is truly special, FirstLight! I used to read a book to my class, “Latkes, Latkes, Good to Eat” by Naomi Howland. It is the story about a little girl who does a kind deed for an old woman who in thanks gives her a magic frying pan that fries up latkes if you say the magic words: “Latkes, latkes, good to eat. Cook me up a Chanukah treat.” They are delicious; I like them with sour cream. Enjoy your latkes from your own magic pan! 😊
